Season’s Greetings
Fei's Hawaii Trip with Girl Friends
After a year of staying home, Fei decided to accept her girl friends' invitation to visit Hawaii in April. They went to Maui for a week and then Honolulu for another week. She had to secure a negative Covid test within 72 hours to board her flights. It was very inconvenient at that time, however, everything went well and she got to Hawaii safely and enjoyed the trip.
Visit Jeff and Family in June - July
The pandemic situation got a little bit better in May and June this year, therefore, we ventured out to visit Jeff’s family in Oakland in late June and to enjoy family fun together. It had been more than a year and a half since we saw them in person, this was a major excitement event for all of us.
Jeff and Jennifer brought a house this year in Berkeley, CA. It is closer to the mountain and in a very nice neighborhood, however there are remodeling work needed. Since we were there, we took the opportunity to see the house and it's nice and beautiful yards. We visited a couple of times just to enjoy it and pick up some to the fruits in the backyard.
Jennifer rented a vacation house in Lake Tahoe, and we drove there to enjoy our July 4th weekend.
We got a chance of visiting a nearby state park. We also enjoyed canoeing tour, zip-lining and tree adventure activities. It was a very enjoyable weekend. The vacation house has a large patio and we enjoyed many nice dinners on the patio.
Visit Arches and Canyonlands NPs with Jason’s Family - July
We took the opportunity of using Talia’s 4th grade free national park pass to visit the Arches and Canyonlands NPs. So happy that Jason and Theresa were willing to take Maisie along by carrying her all the way to see amazing rock formations in these wonderful national parks. The weather was a little too hot for all of us, however, we were determined to enjoy both parks regardless of weather conditions. Luckily, there is a pool in the hotel that we stayed and we were able to cool off in the pool after park visits.
We stayed in Moab, UT which is about 20 minutes drive from Arches NP. We ventured out in the morning and came back to the hotel to cool off and then ventured out again in the afternoon. One of the nights, we even went out to see the sunset from the park.
Canyonlands Park is a little further away from our hotel. We went to the Island in the Sky in one day and then the Needles in another day.In between, we also visited the Wilson Arch and the Castle Valley. The Youngest Member of Jason's Family - Maisie
Maisie turns to 1 year old on Dec 4. Through out the year, we were able to see her regularly and witnessed her growing up from a baby to a beautiful and cute one year old. We feel so lucky to have her nearby and visited her frequently. Talia is ten and has been a great help in taking care of her little sister.
Additional member of Jeff’s Family
In June, Jeff and Jennifer got a puppy named Winnie who is a mini Schnauzer. She is a cute dog and quickly gained the whole family’s attention and love.
